Allianz began its operations in Indonesia with a representative office in 1981. In 1989, Allianz established PT Asuransi Allianz Utama Indonesia, a general insurance company. Subsequently, in 1996, Allianz entered the Indonesian life and health insurance market, as well as the pension fund sector, by opening PT Asuransi Allianz Life Indonesia.

In 2006, both Allianz Utama and Allianz Life began offering Sharia-compliant insurance products. In 2023, PT Asuransi Allianz Life Syariah Indonesia was established as a separate entity, providing Sharia-based insurance and financial risk solutions.

Today, Allianz in Indonesia is supported by over 1,300 employees and a network of more than 50,000 sales professionals, bank partners, and other distribution channels.
